Welcome to Big Couch!

Hi, friends! You know what? You are incredibly talented. Like really really really talented. New Orleans is full of creative people engaging in all types of artforms. We’ve been so grateful to participate in and observe that through our work with improvised comedy. And, we just had to do something BIG!

A city of our size, with our culture and vibrancy, can never have too many performing arts spaces. The more these resources are available, the more people will create to fill them. So, we’ll make a sports movie reference and say “if you build it, they will come,” only we aren’t talking about baseball playing ghosts. You are living, breathing, creative humans who need room to grow.

So, Big Couch is building a brand, to build funds, to build a building. Over this next year, every bit of our programming is a metaphorical brick to fund the acquisition of real estate to use as stage, studio, rehearsal room, and whatever else we can fit. We appreciate your attention, support, and patience. We also want and would be very grateful for the feedback and suggestions. As improvisers, we believe in collaboration, so any conversations you wish to have with us via email or in person will be well-received.
